The core board requires power to record video, and 4k is more of a chore than a lower resolution. 4k requires alot more chip horsepower than 1080. What is also affected is the drones temperature in 4k vs 1080. Don’t editorialize titles or submit clickbait. Battery drain is most likely affected, but nobody has tested it.The battery life of about 18hrs is simply amazing and would rather spend the money left from not getting a 4k display on a 4k monitor. 4 of them even bought XPS 15's (1080p) even though all of us could have got a 4k version. If battery life is more of a concern, we recommend picking up a Dell XPS 15 with a 97Whr battery, the 1080p display, and Core i5 processor to get the most out of the notebook on a single charge. If you want a 4K display and will make the most of it, it's recommended you make the upgrade. Enjoying media should result in several hours of entertainment, while gaming and other intense workloads will see the battery deplete at a considerable rate.
